Meet Meadowcreek’s New Head Football Coach: Coach Jason Carrera 

Coach Jason Carrera is excited about the opportunity at Meadowcreek High School and the prospects of establishing Meadowcreek as a premier football program in Gwinnett County, and the state of Georgia.  Coach Carrera’s leadership will begin by supporting teaching and learning, and will translate to the weight room and football field.  As he shares his vision in the Meadowcreek community, you will find he places high emphasis on character development, discipline, core values, and has an uncanny passion to develop young men.   He will enter Meadowcreek HS with a highly qualified staff of educators that will assist him with the journey.  “Win Each Day,” will be the motto Coach Carrera lives by when building the Meadowcreek Football program.

Coach Carrera spent the 2014 season as the Quarterback’s Coach at Stockbridge High School and was named the 2014 Region Assistant Coach of the Year for a Stockbridge team that finished in the state semi-finals.  He worked as a Resource Academic Teacher at Stockbridge High.

During the 2012-14 seasons, Carrera served as Head Football and Baseball Coaches at Flint River Academy in Woodbury, GA where Flint River Academy won the 2013 Region Championship. In 2013 he was honored as Region Coach of the year.  Many declared his leadership turned around the football program, academically and athletically.

During the 2007-12 seasons, Carrera spent 6 years at Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, GA coaching Football, Baseball, and Golf.  He held several teaching duties at ELCA including Web Design, Physical Education, while serving as the Offensive Coordinator.  As an effective leader, it was also deemed Carrera enhanced football operations during time served at ELCA.

In 2004-07, Carrera worked at Henry County High School coaching Quarterbacks under Head Coach, Mike Rozier.  During their run they achieved new heights as they set various school records with GHSA state playoff runs. Collectively, over a ten year span, his overall record is 74-24.

Coach Carrera graduated from Forest Park High School where he played Football and Baseball.  After graduation he attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on a Football Scholarship.  He has a degree in Marketing from Georgia State and is currently completing his Masters in Special Education at Grand Canyon University.  He has two boys, Cole 22 and Kyle 16.  Cole attends the University of Alabama, Kyle attends Landmark Christian School.
