Mustangs News · Outstanding Meadowcreek Senior Athletes Honored at County Banquet

Congratulations to Meadowcreek High School Senior Athletes, Guadalupe Ruelas and Miguel Lara for being honored at the Gwinnett County Outstanding Senior Athlete Banquet on April 27, 2015.

Guadalupe Ruelas is a varsity letterman in Cross Country and Track. She broke the Meadowcreek School record for the 3200m run and ranked number 1 on the MHS Cross Country team for the 2014 season.  Guadalupe has a 3.6 GPA and attends honors and AP courses at Meadowcreek High. She has been a member of the basketball cheerleading squad, student council, Meadowcreek HOPE (Hispanic Organization Promoting Education), and Beta Club.  Guadalupe has completed numerous community service hours with Meadowcreek HOPE and in fundraising efforts for the cross country team. She lead a group of student runners to map out Stampede in the Park 5K Trail Run to benefit the cross country and soccer team and participated in the race as well. She was a 2014 member of Homecoming Court and plans to study nursing in the Fall at Kennessaw State.



Miguel Lara is a three year varsity starter for the Meadowcreek Soccer team serving as Co-captain for the Mustangs. His skill on the soccer field has attained a membership of being on the 2015 First Team All Region. Miguel was also a 2015 All-County nominee for Soccer in Gwinnett as welll. He is an example on the field in skill and sportsmanship and in the classroom as well. He has maintained a 3.8 GPA  attending all Honors and AP classes at Meadowcreek High School. He is involved in various community projects that promote AIDS awareness and support the surrounding comminuty like Adopt-A-Road and the Beautiful Pinnacle Pond Project. Miguel will be attending Oglethorpe in the Fall.
